Board Meeting September 8, 2008

Attendees: Don Hennigan, Mike Wulf, Steve Warrick, Dorothy McAbee, Sam Kenny

Call to order: 9:10

• Approved corrected minutes from April 4, 2008
• Expenses
• Mowing is more than planned due to summer rain and gas prices. Up from $250 /2weeks to $300./2weeks.
• Water up $100/month
• Office supplies up from extra mailings about water quality.
• Reimburse Larry Reed for annual website fee. Switch to Dorothy’s credit card.
• Reimburse George Kelly for water samples.
• Water Quality – recent sample results weren’t available
• Results will be reported to Health Department by Dorothy if needed
• Discussion of sewage smell near small house on Ocean drive that has outlet to the inter-coastal canal.
• Don checked with Palm Harbor and City by the Sea and their numbers were up
• Discussion of future sewer system – Rick Johnson researching / reporting to Dorothy
• Front Entrance landscaping
• Good comments and kudos to the landscape committee
• Steve to check with Willie Kucera for weeding.
• Drip system by oleanders needs some protection from weed whacker.
• Flagpole repainted.
• Discussion of excessive boat parking on county road in Bahia Bay.
• County Commissioners will discuss signs when new court takes office.
• Don will address problems in community letter sent with picnic notice.
• Bulkhead – work in progress
• Luedeke-Huette cap disintegrating
• Previous bulkhead repair company has retired
• Don has made many calls seeking a business to do it but slow return calls, high bids, or no show on promised work has been the result. He will stay after it.
• Water entry breakwater is working.- much less grass cleaning.
• One board loose but will let it remain
• Same difficulty with grass cleaning crews as bulkhead repair
• Small tax bill owed – Mike and Michelle will handle it.
• Canal signs- Steve and his committee will work on welcome, speed limit, private property, and no trespassing signs.
• Miscellaneous
• Suggestion that County Health representative speak at annual meeting about septic system upkeep.
• Check that Michelle is giving updated covenants in new owner packet.
• Owners that use their property for rental need to let Dorothy know their agent.
• Thank yous from board to President Don Hennigan for work well down. Two director places open – his and Sam wants to retire.
